Wok Box Fresh Asian Kitchen is an awesome new addition to the hundreds of restaurants lining 17th Avenue SW.
Finally, relief from the monotony of pub and Mediterranean food!
Not only is Wok Box – rather shockingly – an Alberta original (founded in Edmonton in 2004), but they also have the awesome Chinese take out boxes you see on TV (and at Vancouver’s Noodle Box)! I love those!
Not only that, but Wok Box offers a plethora of vegetarian options, including the option of extra veggies for a low-carb option at no extra cost, or to have tofu in your stirfry.
That makes me so excited, you have no idea.
So, aside from the fact that the food is fast, fresh and fabulous, the service is pretty spectacular too. The girl at the till was ready to help me pick a stirfry option, asking the right questions and explaining all the products available. She was smiling and friendly and honest and very aware of customer cues (example: I didn’t even have to ask where the utensils were, she pointed them out at the perfect moment).
She even checked on me while I was digging in. That happens in fast food joints?!?! No way!
This brand new Wok Box location is sure to be busy once people catch on to the mouth-watering eats and the calibre of service.

I looooove the wok box we have out here on Langley. Sooo good!
Although I live in Calgary, I’ve never been to this location (but have to the one in Langley). So bizarre that Jamie mentioned it (originally from Vancouver).
What’s cool is that on their website they talk about one opening on Davie this summer. I miss Van!
ps: Jamie…cool photos!!
Jessica – they JUST opened a Wok Box in downtown Vancouver (in the West End)….Davie&Denman. Don’t mean to rub salt in your wound…so move back!
I haven’t been to the Langley one. Jamie…….you should make the trip out from Langley (and bring your portfolio) hehehe
Wok Box on 17th Ave in Calgary has the nicest staff. Thoroughly enjoyed my time there.
We just got on out here in Kelowna and I have to say it sure was great. Can’t wait to go again.
