I don’t know why it took me so long to convert to Mac-ianity but I am now a devoted follower. I won’t go on about the added benefits of owning a Mac, I will say however, that the customer service at the Apple Store in the Eaton’s Centre blew me away.
As my warranty was almost up, I needed to get some things fixed (broken power cord, check for viruses, etc). I booked my appointment online the day before (which you have to do) and headed over after work the next day for my appointment at 6 pm. I get there and the place is a zoo; there are people EVERYWHERE and I quickly realize I won’t be seen promptly at six.
That’s alright though. I’ve learned to have patience (or suppress that overwhelming feeling of consumer rage, one or the other). Anyway I wait patiently for 30 minutes and I’m just about to lose my cool, and then I meet Garth.
Garth is my saviour from Apple customer service insanity. As soon as he greets me, he apologizes profusely for the wait. Several times. Then I tell him why I am there and he says he can absolutely help me with that. Then I mention this chip on the keyboard that I assumed was not going to be fixed under my warranty. But Garth, sweet sweet Garth, assured me it would be taken care of.
And at 6 pm the next day, I picked up my like-new laptop, with a new power cord and completely bug/virus/garbage free hard drive. There might have been a wait, but the service was absolutely spot on.
So if you need another reason to switch to a Mac, do it for the customer support. It’s unmatched.

Did you deal with a ‘Genius’ employee? What’s the deal with them? Do they have them there? I think they wear diff’rnt shirts.
