Back in the day, I used to spend a pretty penny getting my hair cut.
And the place I loved to do it was Civello.
The Queen West location (269 Queen St. West) is just one of three locations around the city. I’ve also been to the Rosedale location and the service at both places was great.
You really get the whole treatment when you come into civello; a short chat with the stylists about what you want and then a glorious 10 minute back, neck and head massage (with your choice of oils) and really is hte most relaxing part of the whole process.
When I used to go here, my stylist was Trin and she was truly fantastic. She specialized in short hair and always did a great of giving me exactly what I wanted (and she was also great at experimenting with different styles, if I felt so inclined).
Trin was also the perfect mix of conversation and silence and always really appreciated her professionalism and sociability.
The only reason I stopped going here was the price (which Aveda Institute seems to have gotten the hang of) – but it’s not really that excessive. For a mid-level stylist, you’re looking at about $70 for a cut, tax and tip included. If you really want to spoil yourself (and you want a great, professional-looking cut) Civello is where it’s at.
