Ichimi Sushi is a sushi restaurant without anything in particular that stands out about it. Except it’s on Edward St. at Bay and Dundas and anyone who lives or work by there will know that there is NOTHING in terms of proper food in that neighborhood.
Let me put it this way: both The Red Lobster and St. Louis are huge and have lineups of people daily. It’s THAT gauche. So Ichimi is like Evian in the desert.
They have reasonably priced lunch bento’s and sushi combos and the take out service is super fast.
I’m not sold entirely on their sashimi and sometimes the portions fit the price if you know what I mean. Little cheap when it comes to the fish selection on the Hae Dup Bab. But I like the little extras like Hershey chocolate kisses with your bill and that they take 10% off for regulars without advertising it all over.
It’s subtle and homey and most definitely a local joint worth supporting. If it was a star system on food and atmosphere, Ichimi would barely crack a 5 next to the fancy uptown sushi spots, but given the location and the competition, it’s closer to a 9.

Hey, first I want to say nice blog. I don’t always agree with your blogposts but it’s always a interesting read.
Keep up the great work.
Whats up! Wonderful thought, but could this actually operate?
