Even though most writers make a decent salary and have consistent, steady income (bahaha, I couldn’t even finish that statement). My point is, we love bargains. Or at least I do. Especially when it comes to shopping. Sure it’d be nice to drop a fat wad of cash at Holt Renfrew, but just like my dream to star in a Labyrinth remake, it’s just not going to happen.
If you love to stretch your dollar so far that Queen Vicki’s head is torn in two, Joe Fresh is for you. The store was founded by one of the designers at Club Monaco, Joe Mimran and boy, can you tell. The clothes here are great – well made, well cut, lots of colours and always trendy. And most important, super duper cheap!
I just went summer shopping and I bought: a beautiful wrap dress, a casual black skirt, two t shirts, a black dress shirt and a cardigan for $160. At most stores, this would have cost well over $250.
The service here, in my books, is great. No sales people harassing you constantly. But if you do need a hand, there is always a sales person re-folding t-shirts or checking inventory to give you a hand. I have noticed at some stores (because of its popularity) that the dressing rooms, and subsequent wait time, can be quite daunting. But if you’re willing to get a great bargain, the line ups are totally worth it.
Plus, all the stores are located at Loblaws, so you can get some delicious food for dinner, and then wow your dinner guests with your cheap and cheerful new garb.
