One of the hardest things about moving to or visiting a new city is trying to find a decent place to get brunch. The meal isn’t really a moneymaker for most restaurants, so finding a quality establishment that does it well can be tricky.
But don’t lose hope! You’ll find salvation from the brunch dilemma with Niche. The Queen West eatery is a quaint, well-established place that will fill your stomach without emptying your wallet.
The service here is consistently fast and friendly and although it’s a rather small place, I’ve always felt they go above and beyond accommodating their guests. I’ve come in with groups of two to six and they’ve always done their best to find the room in the small space they occupy.
Even at its busiest, the servers are fast, coffee refills are frequent and the food is always served fresh. Everything on the menu, literally I’ve tried every item, is scrumptious. Eggs Benny, French toast and chili eggs, are melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The prices are decent too and the food is never floating in a pool of grease like a lot of other breakfast places.
With a coffee and a juice and a delicious brunch selection, my bill is usually between $10 and $15.
There’s one more thing about Niche that you must know when you come to visit, and that’s that it boasts an impressive patio. Tucked in the back is a beautiful, spacious and canopied oasis. If you do visit Niche, make sure to get a seat on the patio. I have spent many a lazy Sunday afternoons here, talking, drinking coffee and soaking up the sun in one of Toronto’s beautiful, hidden sanctuaries.

What a great name, Niche! I absolutely love french toast, so this will be a must. But, CHILLI EGGS!!! AWESOME!!
