pusateris_75x100.jpgSome might say it’s a little counterproductive during a recession to blow a bunch of money on groceries, but I think if there’s anything that will get us through this financial crisis, it’s holding on to some of those little luxuries in life.

And if you’re going to do that anywhere, it’s Pusateri’s in Yorkville.

This place is small, but it boasts a huge selection of foods you wouldn’t find at your average grocery store. It has a wide selection of cheeses, breads, super fresh produce, rare, exotic fruits and veggies as well as impressive meat and seafood counters. They also have a fantastic selection of premade food, like sandwiches, salads, sushi, and hot meals. Their desserts are also to die for and shouldn’t be missed

But one of the things that really sets Pusateri’s apart is the service. They have people working the floor all the time, handing out samples and alerting you to the fresh baguettes that have just been put out. They can tell you which is the best kind of vintage balsamic or how to perfectly cook your triple A angus steak.

I used to be scared to buy expensive food because I assumed I would ruin it. But the people that work here know their stuff and are always happy to share their knowledge with you.

Your wallet might be a little lighter when you leave here, but your stomach will be full of delicious, homemade gourmet food.
